Beer :- Beer is one of the oldest and most consumed alcoholic drink in the world and third most popular drink after water and tea. Beer is obtained by fermentation of grains (malted barley, wheat, maize, and rice) and brewed with hops. Beer= Grains + Hops + Water + Yeast Beer was introduced before 6000 BCE which was made using barley in summer. The basic technique of brewing came to Europe from middle east. Namaste I apologize for the delay. Today I am going to take you all through Alcoholic Beverages. We all know the basic definition that the beverage which includes alcohol is known as alcoholic beverage.  What is alcohol? Alcohol is a recreational drug Ethanol that produced by fermenting grains fruits and other sources of sugar.  Alcohol is divided into 3 1. Methanol 2. Isopropanal 3. Ethanol Among these only Ethanol can be consumed and the process to prepare the drink are distillation and fermentation. There are two ways to measure concentration of alcohol in drink they are ALCOHOL BY VOLUME (ABV) & ALCOHOL PROOF. Alcohol by Volume is the number of millilitres of Ethanol per 100 millilitres in a solution. While alcohol proof is twice the percentage of alcohol by Volume. Beverages  Thank you everyone for the lovely comments.  We saw the history of food and beverages Today we are going to learn about different beverages.  A Beverage is a liquid intended for human consumption, a basic function to satisfy thirst. Which are divided into Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic.  Some common type of Non-alcoholic beverages are water, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices and soft drinks. And Alcoholic beverages such as Beer, wine, spirits, and liquor which contain etanol. Water and milk have been basic drink throughout the history. As time passed, society developed, techniques discovered various ways to create alcoholic drink from plants that were available in different parts.  Roughly around 6000 year ago there was a say that jesus turned water into wine in georgia and the evidence of wine also found 5000 yrs ago in iran. Namaste Thanks for the support 🙏 Today I am going to write about the history of food and beverage. How did it came into existence? Quite interesting. The journey of food and beverage start with humanity itself. Earlier people used to gather on the birth or death of anyone in the family or on any special occasion and large number of people used to get served. Food and beverage already existed during ancient, but it truly came into limelight when "Nicholas Appert" "Father of Canning". He invented various ways of conserving all kind of food substances in containers ; later  French biologist, microbiologist and chemist "Louis Pasteur" he invented "pasteurization" and  the principles of vaccination and microbial fermentation.
